Phase 1 Level 2

This is my Phase 1 Level 2. Last 2012 level 2 was a failure. Because of my job, I rarely paid a visit of my farm. Level 3 is completed but only 20% of the seedlings survived last May 2013. I need to start the clearing operation again. See my photos for updates.

Planning for rubber plantation

Planning to have your own rubber plantation is good. It will raise you a good income after 7 years of waiting and cultivating your personal grown rubber plantation.

But, rubber plantation/cultivation is not that easy. It needs your determination to establish what you have planned. It will result of waste of time, effort and money if it is not planned properly. From clearing the field to planting the seedlings is the first crucial stage in rubber plantation.

There are lots of factors to be considered when deciding to have your own rubber plantation.

The very first phase of rubber plantation is to layout your field, as to what section should be first develop.

- Why? When deciding to have your own rubber plantation, specially when you are working 8 hours a day in the office, it is not advisable to rush for it. Plan for its layout. The advisable layout is that, the first section should be a hectare and it must be accessible compare to other part of your farm.

- Clear the field by section to be sure that the field you have cleared are personally attended. It is not advisable to clear wide field when you are not sure that those cleared field are to be planted. It will just return to a bushy field.

- 2 months before clearing the field, you should start planting seedling in the polybag so that the seedling will be fully develop its leaves and roots and can stand the heat under the sun when planted to the field.

- 2 week after clearing the field, new scion of the bush will develop and grass seeds will sprout, that time, you should spray herbicide. In my field, I used ROUND UP herbicide.

- after 1 or two weeks, you should start transplanting the seedling in the field. Because after 2 months, the bushes will start to grow. And it will yield difficulties when transplanting your seedlings and it will affect the growth of the seedlings.

- It is advisable that when you plan to plant the seedlings, it must be in a rainy season. So that the seedling will surely grow and develop its roots and can stand for the next dry season.

Well, that is what i have experience and done on my own rubber plantation. Try more readings on this site:
